Absher Platform Executes Over 430 Million Electronic Transactions in 2024

The Ministry of Interior’s electronic platform, Absher, successfully carried out over 430 million digital transactions for citizens, residents, and visitors in 2024 through Absher Individuals and Absher Business.
The Ministerial Agency of Civil Affairs processed more than 31 million transactions during the past year. These included 1,105,363 national ID verification operations, 656,999 electronic national ID renewals, 356,031 transactions through the “ Bayanati Plus” service, 301,745 family member verification requests, and 180,310 transactions via the enhanced “ Bayanati Plus” service. 
Additionally, the agency processed 118,370 national ID replacement requests for lost cards, issued 70,579 family records, and handled 41,128 national ID replacement requests for damaged cards.
In the General Directorate of Passports, more than 56 million transactions were executed, including the issuance of 33,371,269 exit and re-entry visas, 3,599,884 residency permit issuances and renewals, and 1,253,361 Saudi passport issuances and renewals. The directorate also completed 351,218 passport renewals for individuals under 10 years old, 238,060 exit and re-entry visa extensions, 130,382 service transfer requests, and 103,851 exit visa cancellations. Additionally, 57,077 final exit visas were issued during the trial period, and 16,914 authorizations were granted for receiving domestic workers upon arrival.
The General Directorate of Public Security carried out more than 35 million transactions during the past year. These included 1,641,787 vehicle registration renewals, 1,209,792 vehicle repair permit requests, 1,003,545 driver’s license renewals, 764,656 driving authorization requests, 625,379 license plate replacement requests, and 312,790 vehicle ownership transfer transactions. The directorate also completed 204,846 requests to remove neglected or damaged vehicles, 83,424 firearm licensing transactions, and 69,575 vehicle insurance validity checks.
Through the Digital Wallet, Absher processed 301,368,820 transactions, while 1,952,188 documents were delivered via mail. The platform also issued 924,246 reports through Absher Reports service and processed 41,581 fingerprint-related inquiries.
Through Absher Business platform, the number of completed transactions exceeded 26 million over the past year. These included the issuance of 12,784,007 internal and external authorizations, 4,078,987 residency permit issuances and renewals, and 2,599,923 inquiries about traffic violations. Additionally, 1,494,715 exit and re-entry visas were issued, while 1,054,678 users were registered as designated vehicle operators. The platform also processed 809,898 customs card transactions, 588,651 service transfer requests, and 469,498 vehicle ownership restrictions.Moreover, the platform facilitated 454,288 vehicle registration renewals, 313,577 exit and re-entry visa extensions, and 273,342 criminal record certificate issuances. It also handled 177,339 driving authorizations for visitors, 169,858 vehicle repair permits for businesses, and 87,867 resident report requests. Additionally, 80,309 exit visa cancellations, 69,467 passport information updates, 42,039 job title modifications, and 38,372 air gun licensing transactions were processed. Other key services included 36,379 vehicle information inquiries, 35,062 driver’s license information requests, and 34,293 exit and re-entry visa cancellations. Furthermore, the platform processed 17,596 permits for quarry material transportation.
